Big Picture 7th-Graders Serve as Tour Guides at Darwin Martin House
Students enrolled in the Big Picture Middle School Program at Kenmore Junior/Senior High recently enjoyed a wonderful experience through the Darwin Martin House Junior Docent Program.
With the help of the Darwin Martin House docents, our middle school students not only experienced this architectural treasure, which was designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, but they also had the opportunity to serve as junior docents. They even had the opportunity to guide Edison Elementary students in touring the home which helped them develop their public speaking, research, and community outreach skills.
This was all made possible through Big Picture’s innovative Leaving to Learn program and a Connect Kids grant. Special thanks goes out to Edison fourth-grade teacher Courtney Cefaratti along with her students for making the opportunity all the more special for our students.
