Fashion Students to Showcase Designs at Annual Show

Three Ken-Ton high school students, who are also Fashion Design Technology students at Erie 1 BOCES, will soon have their fashion design pieces on display!
Yoru Yi of the Big Picture program, Nivea Johnson of Kenmore East, and Jae Carter of Kenmore West will be showcasing their work at the upcoming FUSION ’26 Fashion Show: Unification. The show will take place on April 1st at 7p.m. at Salvatore’s Italian Garden in Depew and has annually drawn hundreds of family member, teachers, community members, school administrators, and more.

Our three students will be among more than 21 high school fashion students from across Western New York to take part. During this event, they will create as many as 10 different designs for the runway using skills they’ve developed during their time in the program. This annual show drew more than 700 people last year, including families, teachers, community members, school administrators, and more.

Yi, Johnson, and Carter are wrapping up their second year in the two-year Fashion Design Technology program at Erie 1 BOCES. According to the program website, students learn essential skills in sewing, trend forecasting, fashion psychology, and garment production, while also analyzing collections, exploring fashion history, and diving into merchandising, marketing, and business planning.
Tickets for this year’s show are $10 and can be purchased at the door. You can learn more about the show by clicking here.
